We are taking the kids to Los Angeles over Christmas break and plan to stay very buys. California has many beautiful National Parks and trying to decide which ones to visit was probably our biggest challenge. We finally agreed on this itinerary and we couldn’t be more excited. It can be done…
Day 1
- Fly into LAX and drive to Santa Barbara
Day 2
- Visit Channel Islands National Park
- Santa Rosa Island
Day 3
- Drive towards Pinnacles National Park
- 3 ½ hours
- via Pismo Beach and Paso Robles
- Whale watching on the way
- Stay in Monterey
Day 4
- Drive to Pinnacles National Park
- 45 min away
- Visit the park and have a picnic
- Drive to Sequoia National Park
- 5-6 hour drive
- Check into the Wuksachi Lodge
Day 5
- Visit Sequoia National Park
- Visit General Sherman Tree
- Drive to Death Valley
- 6 hour drive
- Check into the Ranch at Death Valley Lodge
Day 6
- Visit Death Valley National Park
Day 7
- Breakfast at the lodge
- Finish up at Death Valley
- Drive to Palm Springs VRBO towards Joshua Tree
- 4 ½ drive
Day 8
- Visit Joshua Tree National Park
- 50 min drive to the park
Day 9
- Check out Palm Springs
- Rent bikes and bike around town
- Drive to LA
- 2 hour drive
