Austin Ice Cream Circuit
A few years ago, we came up with the idea of going to a different ice cream/gelato establishment everyday for the week before school started. Last year, we ended up doing it on the east coast as we didn’t get back until a few days before school started.
This year, we were here and were able to try 4 new spots and went to 3 oldies but goodies. There were so many more places that we didn’t get to try. Luckily summer isn’t really over in Austin until the end of October, so we have plenty of time.
Here were our stops:
Monday: Dolce Neve
Awesome first stop. It’s a little gelato place on S. 1st. They had a lot of fun flavors like whiskey pecan as well as the classics like vanilla.

Tuesday: Gemelli
I think this one was my favorite. I had two scoops, Olive Oil and Goats Milk & Honey gelato. Both were amazing. This stop was on the East Side.

Wednesday: Cow Tipping Creamery
This was our second time here and it was just as good the second time. Their claim to fame is soft serve ice cream with all kinds of fun toppings. I got vanilla soft serve, brownie and cookie dough bits topped with caramel and fudge sauce.

Thursday: Teo
Another one of our favorites just north of campus. They actually sell their gelato in grocery stores around town. If you bring back used containers, you get a free scoop for every container! So the 5 of us ate for free that day which is a good thing b/c ice cream everyday for 5 people gets pricey!

Friday: Tasty Spoon
We had dinner at Sway and headed right next door to the Tasty Spoon. Another small gelato place in a super cute house with a great outdoor space. Matt had an affogato which is always nice on a hot day!

Saturday: Austin Scoops
We were on our way back from Lake Travis hot and exhausted. But we needed to squeeze in our ice cream then or it wasn’t going to happen if we went home. Austin Scoops is in our hood so we’ve been a bunch of times, but this time was definitely my favorite. I got a scoop of Milk Chocolate in a waffle cone. OMG! It was so creamy, rich and sweet. YUM!

Sunday: Venezia
Sunday.. Day before the first day of school. Wow the summer flew. We decided to try this small gelato place on South Lamar. Great flavors.
