Best 24-Hour Emergency Vet EVER!
Our dog has been in our family for over 15 years. When she recently fell ill, we feared the worst. Luckily, we stumbled upon AVES (Austin Veterinary Emergency & Speciality Center) and their excellent team of doctors who nursed our beloved dog back to health.
AVES is an amazing 24-hour emergency veterinary hospital located near the intersection of FM 2222 and Loop 360. They perform all manners of emergency diagnostics and surgery, and have the facilities to board and monitor your dog or cat if your pet has to stay over night. They have their own surgery and x-ray facilities, on-staff veterinary oncologist, and a daily visit from a mobile radiologist. AVES is not your every-day vet, and they don't do routine check-ups or perform any scheduled/elective procedures.
It's easy for us to be excited about AVES -- they correctly diagnosed our dog's sickness (pneumonia with a bacterial infection in her lungs) and got her on the path to recovery. We were very impressed with the facilities, and how competent and communicative the doctors and staff were. They let you visit your pet at any time, and even let our daughter hang a get-well card in our dog's kennel (which had a frameless glass door!). Any time AVES needed to update or talk with us, the doctor made a personal phone call and spent as much time answering questions as we needed. They were also very good about explaining the diagnostic and treatment course they suggested, our options, and the cost implications of each of those options.
I really hope you never need to go to a place like AVES, but if you do, AVES is the pet hospital we recommend.
