Brits for a Week

We recently took the kids to London and Paris for two weeks. I absolutely loved our itinerary in London, and wanted to share it with y’all. You can cover a lot in a week, but the key is to plan ahead. Get your tour guides lined up, your lunch/dinner reservations booked, and your museum tickets purchased. Keep in mind, most of our dinners were in Mayfair since our apartment was located there. Here you go...

Day 1
  • Arrive and hit the ground running
  • Harrods
  • Lunch at Bubbledogs - make reservations
  • Top Shop, Selfridges, and Oxford Street - window shop
  • Dinner at Roti Chai
  • Grocery shopping on the way home
Day 2
  • Buckingham Palace & Changing of the Guards  
  • Big Ben
  • Lunch at Florentine Restaurant & Bar - make reservations for their famous English Breakfast
  • Churchill War Rooms - purchase tickets ahead of time to avoid the lines
  • London Eye - get their champagne package - you get a specific time and get to cut the lines.
  • Walk across London Bridge
  • Dinner @ Nobu - make reservations
  • Mr. Fogg’s Residence (a cute bar - w/out kids)  
Day 3
  • British Museum – opens at 9:30
  • Sketch - afternoon tea - make reservations
  • Kensington Palace and Hyde Park – ice cream and biking
  • Burgers & Lobster – early dinner before the show
  • Half a Sixpence Show 7:30PM – amazing local musical
Day 4
  • Stonehenge - get a tour guide and get there early.  A 2-hour tour is perfect.  
  • Salisbury - cute little town
  • Highclere Castle - pick up lunch from the town of Salisbury and have a picnic at the castle
  • Gymkhana for dinner - make reservations
Day 5
  • Get a tour guide for these few spots
    • Westminster Abbey - with a tour guide
    • St. Paul’s Cathedral
    • Tower of London
  • Borough Market for lunch – some of the more popular places
    • Richard Haward Oysters
    • La Tua Pasta (fresh pasta)
    • Horn OK Please - chickpea dosa, aloo tikkis
    • Gourmet Goat - mediterranean kebabs
    • Brindisa Chorizo Grill
  • Walk across Tower Bridge
  • Trafalgar Square – ice cream
  • National Portrait Gallery – if you still have time
  • Dinner at Dishoom - make reservations
Day 6
  • Oxford - get a tour guide to show you around and then drive you to Harry Potter Studios
  • Harry Potter Studio – make reservations early (this place books up very fast)

The trip was a blast and the kids got to see/do so much. Enjoy!!
