Holiday Shopping
It’s that time of year again! The weather is finally cool again and I have this undeniable urge to buy everything pumpkin, cinnamon and glittery. My kids think I’m crazy when they come home from school to find pumpkin bagels, pumpkin muffins and pumpkin coffee on the island. I just can’t. help. myself.
With that being said, if you’re not into pumpkin, I have many other seasonal ideas. Tis the season for holiday parties, gingerbread house decorating events and dinner parties. Don’t find yourself empty handed when you walk in through their door. I like to keep a few things on hand to take over to those last minute invitations.
A couple of my go to places for fun seasonal items (within budget) is Cost Plus World Market, Crate & Barrel, Bed Bath & Beyond (can use all those 20% coupons you’ve been saving) and Pier 1 Imports.
You don’t have to bring one big item. One thing I like to do is a small bag with ‘My Favorite Things’. Some items I love to include are candles, warm socks, lip balm, lotions and sharpies. I mean really.. who doesn’t love sharpies?!
If you have some notice and want to get something a little more personal, I love to get personalized stationary. Etsy has tons of options of beautiful stationary where you can personalize with just one name or names of the entire family. You can include a few colorful sharpies with the gift.
If none of those sound appealing, keep a few bottles of wine handy (maybe hide them from yourself so you don’t drink them). Also, everyone loves flowers. You can always run by the store and have them wrapped (Whole Foods does a great job!).
