Napa in Detail
We love Napa and have visited there about once a year! If you are looking for a quick get-away, look no further than California’s wine country. We have stayed at a few hotels in the Napa Valley (especially Yountville) and have also eaten at many restaurants. Lately, when we go we seem to gravitate towards the few that have been most memorable. It’s always tempting to try the latest and greatest, but why? Here’s our Napa go-to list that has never disappointed.
Hotels we love:
Hotel Yountville
http://www.hotelyountville.com
It’s in the small town of Yountville and happens to be walking distance from a lot of great restaurants like The French Laundry, Bouchon, Lucy’s, and Redd.
Bardessono

A more modern style hotel also located in Yountville. They pride themselves in being very eco-conscious yet luxurious! The property has an amazing restaurant, pool, and spa. The rooms are very spacious too.
The Auberge Du Soleil

Located in Rutherford Hills. It is slightly more expensive, but you must stay there at least once. It has a more tranquil and romantic feel, with breathtaking views. The restaurant at the hotel is also a must try.
Restaurants we love:
Brix

Delicious for lunch or dinner. Like many places in Napa, they have their own herb garden. But how cool is it to see your bartender picking basil from the garden to make your cocktail! Request a table outside to enjoy the garden view.
Mustards Grill
http://mustardsgrill.com
A very popular hotspot, and one that’s been around for over 30 years. It’s consistently good and always packed. Make reservations!
Ad Hoc

Maybe our top 3 favorite restaurants of all times. A Thomas Keller restaurant, serving American comfort food in a casual environment. They have a nightly fixed menu (family style), and reservations are highly recommended.
Bistro Jeanty
http://www.bistrojeanty.com
Great for lunch or dinner and walking distance from Hotel Yountville and Bardessono. A little neighborhood place serving a French cuisine. They have a nice patio if you want to sit outside.
Bouchon Bistro

If you can’t get into the French Laundry, this is equally good...That’s how we stumbled across this place. Very busy so make a reservation ahead of time. Also walking distance from Hotel Yountville and Bardessono. Delicious!
Bouchon Baker

Amazing baked goods for a casual grab-and-go in the morning. Coffee is equally delicious. Also walking distance from Hotel Yountville and Bardessono. Go for an early morning walk and then stop at Bouchon Bakery and treat yourself.
