The Fit Mom (It's Not Me)
I just can’t be the fit mom. I see them at the gym and at most school functions. They look adorable in their LuluLemon and constantly post about their marathons, CrossFit, or Boot Camps on Facebook. I have tried. I’ve run a couple half marathons and have taken my share of boot camps, I do not own any LuluLemon because, well, $90 for yoga pants? Ummm no.
The reality is that I did not get the genetics to be that mom and I like to eat and drink too much to force myself to be that. So I will continue to power walk three times a week, try to eat right most of the time, and enjoy the drinks my former bartender husband makes and the cupcakes my baking obsessed daughter likes to make. Can we agree to live by the 80% rule? 80% good for me and 20% whatever I feel like?
That being said, I do feel great when someone else is telling me what to do when I workout so a personal trainer like Rusty can keep me honest. He can also yell at me when it becomes obvious that my 20% is creeping closer to 30-35%. So rather than being the Fit Mom, I will be Happy Me.
